Predeceased by parents, David and Dorcas Coates, brother David, sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Len Mills, brother-in-law and close friend David Andrews, brother-in-law, Gord Fewer, brothers in law Hubert Butler, James Brazil and John Butters. Special in-laws Tom and Wilena Howe who loved him dearly, nephew Kenneth Howe, Aunt Daphne Howe, Auntie Lee and Uncle Walter Harris. Survived by his loving wife and best friend Lee. Daughters Lorrie (Scott McCarthy), Krista (Lee Richards) and Cheryl (Paul O’Dea). Grandchildren, whom he loved with all his heart, Mitchell McCarthy, Kallee and Landon Richards, Matthew, Emily and baby to come O’Dea. Sisters, Marie (Harvey Porter), Dorothy Butler, Lorraine (Gordon Lawlor), Ruby Nugent, Jean (Paul Haines), Enid (Bruce Cardwell), Valerie and brother Harry Coates. Brother-in-law Robert (Doris) Howe, sisters-in-law Lisa (Randy Pottle) and Audrey (Rosanne) Howe. Many nieces and nephews that loved and respected him. Jim will always be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, berry picking and his garden. He was a wonderful man who was loved and respected by everyone that was in his presence. Visitation in Hickey's Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 from 4-7 pm.
