Duff, Margaret

Predeceased by parents John and Anne Crotty, husband Alban Duff, brothers Dermot and Edward Crotty and sister Joan Lindemann. Survived by: Sisters and Brothers: John (Florence) Crotty, Bill (Adrian) Crotty, Patricia (Peter G.) Duff, Marie Crotty, Lorraine (Alf) Van Rompaey, Children: Robert (Valerie) Duff, Elizabeth (Gary) Duff,Colleen Duff, Grandchildren: Justin (Kayla) Oliver, Samantha (Yohanne) Duff, Adam Duff, Special nieces: Tina and Gina-Mary Duff.

Mom strived to live a simple life, loved her children and adored her grandchildren who brought her so much joy. She dearly loved her sisters Joan, Pats, Marie, and Lorraine. Their relationship was the envy of many. They spent many hours playing scrabble. Whenever they got together, no entertainment was required. It was so much fun to watch them, and we lovingly called them the Golden Girls.

Mom loved country music, and when Alzheimer’s took so much from her, her love of music continued to bring joy to her life. She was always up for a sing song, and a little dance. She tried very hard to teach the staff at Lanes to dance properly. We hope there is a concert in heaven featuring Charlie Pride, Johnny Cash and Johnny McEvoy.  She was quick-witted and funny to the very end; her stories always brought a laugh. In recent years trips to the cabin brought joy to her life. She always hoped for the next trout and loved the campfire singalongs.

Our deepest gratitude is extended to the staff of Lanes who loved and cared for mom. Their kindness had no boundaries. We wish to thank the many others who helped maintain Mom’s dignity and brought joy to her life as she journeyed with Alzheimer’s.

Her love for her family was felt deeply and her passing leaves us with great sadness. We are comforted knowing she is now at peace.
