I am so sad to hear of Daphne`s passing. I taught with Daphne at St. Michael`s and also hosted her baby shower for Andrea. I last saw her at Bishop Jones Hostel luncheon before Covid. I was not aware of her illness. Daphne was a beautiful lady. She always had a smile, and spoke with such pride and love of her family. I know her passing has left a big void in the lives of you all. Cherish her memory and her love and hopefully it will help you in the days ahead. RIP Daphne. God Bless!!!!!

Deepest condolences for this terribly sad loss. Aunt Daphne was a beautiful person. I'm thankful to have many childhood Christmas memories with her. Aunt Daphne had a big heart and loved and supported her family always. She will be missed greatly.

My favorite memory of Daphne happened in 2015. My husband, Jim, and I were camping with Bob, Daphne and Lloyd in Twillingate. We were there for the summer festival.
Buddy Whatshisname and the Other Fellas were performing on Saturday evening. The show was almost sold out but of course Bob and Daphne found a friend with tickets for all of us.
The show was great. The best part was watching Bob, Daphne and Lloyd laugh at the performance. To say they were laughing is a huge understatement. I don't think I've ever seen anyone laugh so hard. All three of them were wiping tears from their eyes, laughing so hard they were literally falling off their chairs. It was so. Much. Fun.
Just watching them was more fun than the show. And we all know how much fun it is to see Buddy. I always smile thinking about it, and can easily laugh out loud if I think long about it.
There are so many things we loved about Daphne. Her love for family was first and foremost. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren.
She was interested and involved in their lives.
Jim hadn't seen her since they were children when we showed up at their door in 2012. Yet she welcomed us with open arms into her home and life.
She was our favorite relative and we loved her tremendously.

Daphne and I became great friends back in the late fifties - early sixties when I would visit my sister during summer vacations. I have known Daphne for many years from my involvement with the legion and since her illness, she has really been missed. It is with great sadness that Marion and I learned of Daphne's passing. We extend our deepest sympathies and our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Hillier and Foote families at this difficult time.
My thoughts today go back to our school days at St. Mary's High school in Lamaline, when all three of us sat in the same classroom. After graduation in 1962 we all left home to pursue different careers and only reconnected some 6 years ago at the Explorers RV Rallies where we shared lots of fun activities.
