Daphne Gwendolyn Hillier
After a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 77, Daphne passed peacefully away with her family by her side singing songs and reminiscing life. Predeceased by her parents, Max & Lucy Foote, brother Maxie, in laws Robert & Beulah Hillier, sisters in law, Mary Lundrigan & Emily Plank. Leaving to mourn her husband Robert of 57 years, her children Andrea (Chris Dunn), Greg & Beverley. Grandchildren Katelyn, Jayden, Joshua, Ryan and great grandson Jay, brothers Donald (Paulette); Lloyd, Dale as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Daphne led a very active life. She loved camping, winters in Florida, a game of rook or crib and was an avid reader. She was involved with her church and was a Member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Daphne left Lamaline at the age of 16 to attend university to become a teacher. After teaching, while raising her family, she changed careers and went to work at Scotia Bank until she retired. Daphne was kindhearted, warm and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was loved, respected, and fought like a lioness through her battle with cancer. Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Saturday, September 30th, 2023, from 1 – 4 pm. Funeral service in All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, at 1 pm. Interment in All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Dunn’s Hill Road, Foxtrap.
