Alan E. Thygesen

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Alan Thygesen at the Health Sciences Complex, St. John’s on May 5th, 2024, at age 67 years.

Alan was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and moved to Conception Bay South in 2009 with his spouse, Jeannie.

He was predeceased by his parents; Ernest & Doris Thygesen, and parents in-law; James & Lorraine Hiscock.

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories, his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Jeannie; sisters, Suzanne Thygesen, Heather (Graham) Watkins, Holly (Gordon) Perret, Cynthia (Bob) Herron, Tina (Ken) Shaskin; brothers-in-law, Robert (Donna) Hiscock, and Randy (Jacqueline) Hiscock. Alan was so proud of his nieces and nephews as well as his grandnieces and grandnephews and always spoke lovingly of them.

Alan was a kind, gentle soul, whose calm and engaging demeanor enabled him to make lasting acquaintances and friendships. He enjoyed listening to music, photography, a love of trivia, a good drink of Scotch, BBQs with friends, family dinners, keeping up on current events, hiking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by so many.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Health Sciences, 4 North, for their care and compassion.
