David J. Strickland passed away peacefully at his home in CBS December 26, 2024.
David was born July 26, 1947, in St. John’s NL. In which he later moved to Ajax, Ontario where he spent most of his life driving a long-haul truck, hunting deer and golfing.
David is predeceased by his mother Maggie, father Abram Strickland and his brother Bill Strickland, and sisters-in-law Patricia Strickland and Mercedes Strickland.
Leaving to mourn with fond memories are his wife Gabrielle, his step- daughter Ashley, His daughter Michelle (Greg), his grand-daughters Jillian (Mark) and Crystal (Kenneth), great grandkids Juliana, Korie and Isaac and his sister Norma (Jim), brothers Geoff, Ed (Bonnie), Frank (Carol), sisters in Law Emeline, Andrea and several nieces and nephews.
If he wasn’t found volunteering with the Royal Canadian Legion Kelligrews Branch 50 or at the CLB Old Comrades Lodge, he would be found on a golf course working on his swing or in the sunny south of Jamaica with his wife. His dedication to the Legion and the Club where he served as president for numerous years showed his true colors. He served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and spoke proudly of his time listed.
We take solace in knowing you have a tee time booked on the greenest of courses with the grandest of views. May your Tee shots be long and your fairways be wide.
