Obituary of Clementina Smith

Today we celebrate the life of a joyful, compassionate, and fun-loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and volunteer. CLEMENTINA JANE SMITH (nee GILL), age 90 years, of Topsail, Conception Bay South, NL, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, surrounded by family. She is predeceased by her husband Calvin Roland Smith in 2013; parents Eli Jacob and Eliza Jane Gill originally of Pinchard's Island, Bonavista Bay; brother Jack, sisters Fran, Carrie, and Evelyn. Left with a wealth of precious memories are her sons Tom, Jim (Sharon), Brian (Jan), and Richard (Lisa) and daughter Mary Jane (Craig); sister Rose (Gary), a very ‘special’ niece Robin (Jeff), sister-in-law Shirley, and brother-in-law Bill. Clementina is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a very large circle of friends here and abroad. Clemie is fondly remembered throughout her community of Conception Bay South for her generous volunteer efforts over the years; Charter Member of the CBS Lioness Club, Founding Member of the CBS Heritage Society, St. John Evangelist ACW, IODE, Charter Member of the CBS TOPS Club International (59 years), and Honorary Life Member of the Worsley Park 50+ Club. Visitation at Hickey's Funeral Home 570 Conception Bay South on Sunday, January 12th, 2025 from 2-7pm and Monday, January 13th from 3:30-5:30pm.
